WHY WATCH? RETURN TO THE TRACK
You couldn’t call the Flames’ last two games a slippage, given that they’ve managed to rack up points out of every outing. But a solid effort against the visiting Rangers – who will play the second half of a straight game after facing the Oilers – would be ideal. Maybe you like their October 25 game at Madison Square Garden when they beat the Rangers 5-1? They have also dominated the Blueshirts in recent years. The Flames have won the last four meetings.

THREE THINGS ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
1. The Blueshirts are having their best start since the 2016-17 season, which is a huge achievement under the leadership of rookie president, general manager and former Rangers captain Chris Drury. Much of that has to be thanks to savvy veteran coach Gerard Gallant, who did a wonderful job with the Vegas Golden Knights until his departure in early 2020.
2. Oh Adam Fox, what could have been? Brad Treliving kicked off the high-profile prospect with a package deal to acquire Elias Lindholm and Noah Hanifin from the Carolina Hurricanes in 2018. Okay, he might never have signed in Calgary, but that must sting pride from a general manager when the hope identified by your own group finally wins the Norris Trophy.
3. Speaking of Fox, who was a third-round pick for the Flames in 2016, the 23-year-old signed a seven-year, $ 9.5 million-a-year contract earlier this week.
