Go! K-Jjajang is a jjajangmyeon Chinese Korean specialty restaurant serving unique tangsuyuk, shrimp toast and more

Oh, the joys of jjajangmyeon. I like to have more specialty jjajangmyeon restaurants to choose from – the more the better. If, like me, you have a bit of a craving for the iconic Korean-Chinese dish too often, Go! K-Jjajang in Telok Ayer is one of those places worth visiting.

Led by Chef Choi Chil Sung who has over 20 years of experience in Chinese cuisine, Go! K-Jjajang in Amoy Street is the sister restaurant of Go! K-BBQ. You can expect top quality Korean Chinese dishes in generous portions to share with lunch deals for those working in the area.

Naturally, the Go K Jjajang ($14)or the signature of the restaurant jjajangmyeontakes center stage – fluffy noodles tossed in a delicious black bean sauce full of meat and onions.

There is even a spicy version to $15 for those who like it hot.

You might be tempted to just order a portion of jjajangmyeon and the standard Go K Tangsuyuk (S$28), The Korean version of sweet and sour pork.

However, the restaurant also offers the unique Guangdong Tangsuyuk (S$28) and Gochoo Maneul Tangsuyuk ($33), tangsuyuk respectively with chilli and spicy garlic. The latter is garnished with garlic chips, minced garlic and different types of chilli padi — a very fusional amalgam of flavours.

In fact, don’t sleep on the other dishes on the menu (somehow like korean zi char) on the full menu.

For starters and snacks, you have the tastes of Menbocha (S$18)or fried shrimp toast, popularized by famous Korean chef Lee Yeon Bok, and Yangjangpi ($35)seafood and vegetables with mustard sauce.

Main courses include Kkanpunggi (S$38)fried chicken with spicy sauce, Cream Joongha Saeu (S$42)fried prawns in a cream sauce, and Go K Bokkeumbap ($14), pork fried rice and black bean sauce. I love the sound of that.

Although the Haemul Jjamppong (S$18) would be your best bet if you fancy something hot and soupy, the lesser known Samsun Nooroongji Tang (S$38)or burnt rice soup, might just do the trick.

Go! K-Jjajang calls itself ‘Best Korean Restaurant in Singapore’ on social media – you can be the judge.
