HP EliteDesk 805 G8 and HP ProDesk 405 G8 PCs with AMD Ryzen Pro 5000 processors announced at Computex 2021
HP Elite and Pro Desktop PCs were announced at Computex 2021. The lineup includes HP EliteDesk 805 G8 series PCs and HP ProDesk 405 G8 series PCs. Both new series of desktops are powered by Windows 10 Pro and are powered by the recently launched AMD Ryzen Pro 5000 desktop processors. These desktops would also support multi-monitor setups and come equipped with Wolf Security for Business for better defense and privacy. Plus, new HP PCs are made from ocean-bonded plastics and are Energy Star certified.
The HP EliteDesk 805 G8 series includes the HP EliteDesk 805 G8 Desktop Mini and the EliteDesk 805 G8 Small Form Factor PC. The HP ProDesk 405 G8 series consists of the HP ProDesk 405 G8 Desktop Mini PC and the HP ProDesk 405 G8 Small Form Factor PC.
XDA Developers reports that EliteDesk 805 G8 Desktop Mini PC can be mounted behind a monitor, especially the Mini-in-One 24 display which is built with this in mind. HP claims this model is the smallest and most powerful business PC powered by AMD. In comparison, the EliteDesk 805 G8 Small Form Factor PC is a bit larger, has two bays, two half-height slots, three M.2 slots, and 11 USB ports. HP will likely offer many options and scalability configurations.
The HP ProDesk 405 G8 SFF is touted as “the world’s most configurable AMD business small form factor desktop”. HP did not detail exact information on the availability of any of the devices advertised on Computex. Report suggests that HP EliteDesk 805 G8 Desktop Mini PC, EliteDesk 805 G8 Small Form Factor PC, HP ProDesk 405 G8 Desktop Mini PC and HP ProDesk 405 G8 Small Form Factor PC will be available in August of this year. The pricing information for the two PC series is not yet known.
