Is Maruti working on a Swift-based crossover?
Suzuki has something for everyone. Its ever-growing portfolio tastes of all palettes. From the smallest mini and compact Alto to the more elegant Ciaz via the compact SUV Brezza, it is aimed at almost all audiences and now wants to enter the subcompact SUV segment as well. There are reports that the brand is working on a subcompact SUV that will be based on the same platform as the Swift Sport. Rumor has it that this car could be called the Swift Cross.
What to expect?
In terms of design, the Swift Cross looks like a fusion of the Swift and the Ignis. It has a similar square shape, with higher ground clearance and a short wheelbase. Its roof bars, wider wheel arches and wheels are reminiscent of the Ignis. But there are many things about this car that set it apart. The headlights are crisp and set up a projector. They blend in perfectly with the piano black grille. The fog lights look like LEDs and are configured as a quad. The front bumper also receives a silver skid plate at the bottom. While we only see the front of the car in the photo, it’s safe to say that we would see similar plastic coating on the rear as well. Overall, the car looks straight and has a conservative appeal, thanks to the more sophisticated design.
