USC men’s basketball to face BYU in Battle 4 Atlantis tournament

LOS ANGELES – The USC men’s basketball team will face BYU on November 23 in their first round match at the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis 2022 to be held at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas, was announced today (August 2). The tournament will be played during the Thanksgiving holiday from November 23-25. The game against BYU will take place at 2:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
The winner of the USC-BYU opener will face the winner of the Tennessee-Butler game in the semifinals on Nov. 24 (Thanksgiving) at 10:30 a.m. PT. The semi-final match will be broadcast on ESPN2. The two teams that lose the first-round match will face off on November 24 at 3:30 p.m. PT and the contest will be broadcast on ESPNU. The final round matches of the tournament will be played on November 25. USC’s final game will feature one of the quartet teams from Kansas, North Carolina State, Dayton and Wisconsin, who play on the other side of the board.
The 2021-22 Trojans tied the school’s single-season winning record by going 26-8, finishing third in the Pac-12 and advancing to the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
Trojans 2022-23 will be led by a strong core of returning guards boogie ellis (12.5 ppm), Drew Peterson (12.4 ppm) and Reese Dixon Waters (4.8 ppm). Additionally, USC Fires Scholarship Players Harrison Horny (F), Kobe Johnson (G), Joshua Morgan (F) and Malik Thomas (G). The 2022-23 Trojans will also include center Vincent Iwuchukwu’s No. 6-ranked freshman class, forward Kijani Wright and guards Tre White and Oziyah Sellers.
BYU went 24-11 in the 2021-22 season and advanced to the NIT where it fell in the quarterfinals to Washington State. BYU has won 20 or more games in 16 of the past 17 seasons.
USC is 8-3 all-time against BYU, winning the last meeting 70-53 on Dec. 1, 2020 in the first round of the Legends Classic in Uncasville, Connecticut.
