When is the new Dragon Ball game set?

A new asymmetric multiplayer game, The Breakers, uses the Dragon Ball universe, but likely won’t be limited to just one era of the anime.

A new experience comes to the line of Dragon ball video games with the recently announced Dragon Ball: The Breakers. The game brings asymmetric multiplayer, a departure from action fighters like Xenoverse the series is generally known to produce and will feature many recognizable characters. More Dragon ball the games seem to include an adaptation of the DBZ scenario, but the breakers does not seem to indicate a specific era in the anime.

The game will put a player in command of one of the anime’s villains as a Raider, tasked with hunting down seven survivors. The players who control the Seven Survivors will either be a recognizable, non-Z-Fighter (Bulma, Oolong) character or a generic citizen trying to escape Cell, Frieza, or Kid Buu. Dragon Ball: The Breakers So far there is only one trailer and few gameplay details, so its setting is a bit hazy, which seems to be intentional. It does not appear that the breakers attempts to canonically portray these characters, but instead uses them only for gameplay purposes.

So far, the only semblance of gameplay that has been revealed has been for Cell, one of the Dragon ballthe most iconic villains. the breakersThe reveal trailer shows the bio-android emerging as a larva and transforming into its most powerful forms as it terrorizes Ginger Town and absorbs the survivors. So far, this seems to align quite closely with the Dragon ball z cannon, though other characters and game mechanics will cloud the water. For example, the trailer shows Cell reaching his final form, which comes long after his time in Ginger Town, but that seems to be the extent of it. the breakers menu.

Dragon Ball: Breakers likely won’t conform to an era

Dragon Ball: The Breakers doesn't use a specific era of the anime

Regarding the reveal trailer of Dragon Ball: The Breakers goes, it already seems to be a fusion of the different eras of the anime. Cell does not display until DBZ, but Bulma and Oolong both wear outfits that look like the ones worn in the original Dragon ball. As an online multiplayer game, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Survivors getting more outfits in the future as well. In addition, Frieza and Kid Buu will both merge the breakers‘timeline even more. There will likely be maps based on where they appear in the anime, but it’s possible that either of them could be played in Ginger Town as well.

We won’t know for sure until more is revealed about the game, but Freeza being in the game suggests that there will be a card on Namek. Neither Cell nor Kid Buu are ever on Namek (since Frieza destroys him), but he could end up being playable with either if the breakers has typical Map and Raider rotations. So far, nothing has been shown that goes beyond the Kid Buu Saga of Dragon ball z, but there are plenty of villains to choose from for the breakers‘asymmetric Death by the light of day-esque gameplay. Dragon Ball: The Breakers is slated for release in 2022, but no exact date has been given.
